Bloomingly stylish

I have the most lovely friend, you know the ones where you met years ago, keep in touch but rarely see each other but when you do it’s like you have never been apart and the conversation just flows, there are no pregnant pauses ( excuse the phrase but it links rather nicely! )

I met my lovely pregnant friend Natalie last week for a coffee and the kids to catch up and she asked if I could give her some advise on where to find some great maternity clothes that will make her look and feel great but won’t break the bank.

Whilst we are pregant we still want to look great but it is important that we feel comfortable too so I have found some great pieces on the high street I know you will love. None of the items below are ‘maternity clothes’.

This lovely ‘bubble’ t.shirt is from New Look and has a great shaped hem called a blouson, the hem will sit under the bump, team with a pair of maternity jeans for a modern look.

I am in love with this tunic from Mint Velvet, great worn with a pair of leggings to ensure comfort. This tunic is an empire line cut which will give your upper body structure, will fit under the bust and will then drop loosely over the bump.

Dresses are a great garment for you pregnant ladies as they are simple, stylish, chic and really comfy. This emerlad gree patterned maxi dress from Dorothy Perkins is again an empire line cut, perfect. Why not team it either with a cropped cardi or a washed denim jacket.

An item I would recommend for your wardrobe this Autumn / Winter season is the blazer, I have found this one from H & M which is super as it doesn’t have any buttons so there will be no need to worry about fastening and will create a sleek line, it will sit beautifully on your bump. This one has a gorgeous shiny fabric which I personlly think will be fab worn with many different options.

I have selected pieces that you cannot only wear now but after your pregnanacy, therefore, you wont feel so guilty buying them for just 9 months.

Have you ever thought of renting a dress for that special occasion, well I have been introduced to ‘Hire Expectations’ , an Online boutique Hire Expectations launched on 15th June 2012, offering dozens of stylish maternity dresses to hire without the designer price tag.

Founded by 30-year-old twin sisters Pippa Greig and Robyn Mason, the site stocks dresses from ten leading labels including Crave, Isabella Oliver, Keungzai and Butter by Nadia. The range features pieces worn by celebrities including Sienna Miller, Amanda Holden and Naomi Watts.

Styles have been carefully selected to flatter a range of body shapes from the first signs of pregnancy right up until the due date, for occasions from a casual lunch to a formal black-tie event. A range of designer breastfeeding dresses is also available, all cleverly tailored to allow discreet breastfeeding.

Dresses are available to hire for either 5 or 10 days. Rental prices start at just £25, letting women dress beautifully yet affordably throughout their pregnancy.

I hope this helps during your 9 months, as always any questions please do leave me a message.

lots of love
