A day being like a kid in a sweet shop!

For any stylist a day looking at new season collections is a very exciting one and I have just returned home from feeling like a kid in a sweetie shop all day.

I have been to see the new Spring/Summer 2013 collections from Rebecca Minkoff, Barbour, Irregular choice, Falke and Burlington and I am so happy to be able to show you snippets from them.

Rebecca Minkoff’s new collection of handbags, clutches, shoes and great accessories just breathe the summer into your wardrobe with great pastel & accent colours and they feel wonderful. Rebbeca is New York based and her new collection of clothing is a nod to the iconic 60’s and 70’s. I found it very hard to tear myself away from looking at the detail that goes into these products, additional colours on the zips and gorgeous hardware on the clasps.

Irregular Choice is a brand that I first saw today and I can only describe it as fab, funky, quirky and a sheer delight to the eye. There is something very ‘wacky’ to this brand but funnily enough I could really see ladies wearing the shoes with jeans, linens and dresses to really inject some fun to any outfit. This brand will be perfect for any artistic personality and in my opinion Lady Gaga really needs to know about this brand.

Barbour, a brand known to all of us and one which is part of our heritage but definately moving with the times to keep their look modern and fresh. The display below really shows, for me the luxe feel of Barbour. The collections you will see next year are The Breacon Heritage which reworks traditional details and constructions from the Barbour past to create a collection of reinvention and authenticity. The Heritage collection is rich in history with the waterproof clothing refreshed and updated. What I really loved is how the traditonal look has been refreshed and modernised.

Sadly, this is the last season of their collaboration with Alice Temperley for their gold label. Delicate fabrics and hand finishing play an important part to this collection. Colours are camel, black and white and camouflage green. The parka style jacket below was one I wished I could hide in my handbag and run off to the sunset with, it is gorgeous.

The model below is dressed in Alice’s collection and the beautiful camel knit cardigan looks superb when linked with the camouflage print, I really do wish you could feel through your screen as every element of this look is this is so luxurious.

Lastly, don’t your feet deserve to look stunning at all times. The Burlington collection seen below will be able to do that for you with ease. Burlington are renowned for their classic argyle designs and iconic Burlington stud. These socks are high quality and feel so soft. The socks have all been hand stitched to avoid the horrible seam edges we are used to with other socks.  These socks are just perfect for you to wear everyday.

Burlington socks are timeless classics  and what I love the most is that they are available in a variety of colours so perfect for all occasions.

Falke was another brand I saw today and I even was lucky to be given a great Iphone cover from them. These socks are the superior luxurious sock you just want to wear. The collection consists of socks available in either 100% silk or 100% cashmere so you just imagine what they felt like to to the touch. Available for both men and women.

But what is really exciting is the new ‘nude’ tights from this brand. A dermatoligst has been involved in the  development of these tights to ensure the new natural tights colours are perfect for all different skin tones.

Both Burlington and Falke are available at www.mytights.com and can be found in the high street at John Lewis.

I hope you have liked my sneak preview into the new Spring/Summer season with these gorgeous brands.

lots of love
